Katrina “Tina” Ramser
What is SquidKid?
My blog, SquidKid, is a tribute to the love and experience I have for swimming, writing and photography. It’s high time (or tide) I combine my twelve years of teaching and professional freelance experience with swimming, so here you have it — a unique blog dedicated to teaching swimming as it pertains to kids, parents, and health/fitness.
Why blog about swimming?
Because I can’t help myself: I want to provide expert information about what I love and do it in an engaging and charming way. Plus, it’s not being done like this. Sure, you can do a search on swim lessons or water fears, but everything on the topic out there in cyberspace either wants to try to sell you something or just doesn’t have a friendly, personal feel. I want to use my skills, or who I am, to provide an important service.
Who can you teach to swim?
I can teach just about anyone, from 6 month old babies to kids with water fears to the competitive swimmer to first-time adult swimmers. It is never too late to learn to swim or exercise in water. I have an extremely high success rate and am typically booked 2-3 months in advance. I am also the creator behind Mommies-in-Motion, a fun water aerobic workout for mommy with baby in tow. I also am passionate out water aerobics or water workouts for every body.
Where else can I read your published articles?
I tend to write and publish articles having an outdoor angle, from the best 4×4 automotive for your outdoor adventure to preparing for your first open water swim. I’ve been published in over 50 different print and web magazines and newspapers, including Christian Science Monitor, Off-Road.com, DirtSports, PickUpTruck.com, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Willamette Week, CitySearch.com, Net Clearly Magazine, and New York Antique News. My articles have been syndicated in The Modesto Bee, The Sacramento Bee, The Baltimore Sun, The Miami Herald, and Yahoo! News.
In fact, if there is any article in this blog or elsewhere I penned, talk to me about copywrite for buying or using the article.
And If you’d like to check out my photography portfolio taken with a Canon EOS 30D, head over to my Flickr link.
Can I contact you?
Of course! But I would also love it if you left me a comment on SquidKid. Then visit me at www.katrinaramser.com for writing clips & more fun! I am available for hire in the teaching, writing, and photography arena. Check out my Swim Schedule Page for more details.

I came across this site via your guest post on Get Rich Slowly. I too am a swim instructor and I have actually been poking around the last few weeks to see if there were any blogs by other swim instructors out there. Glad to run across the link to this blog and I look forward to reading through all your posts over the next few days.
